Old SGA Sugar Grove started as an Elementary school in 1994 with Mr. Bob Taylor as principal. The name "Sugar Grove" as derived from the church that previously occupied the same grounds. Sugar Grove started as an overflow school, accepting students from our surrounding elementary schools. At the time, Sugar Grove did not have its own school zone. SGA has been rated Exemplary by the State of Texas for the years 2009, 2008 and 2006. In addition, Sugar Grove won The Texas Governor's Grant award for 3 consecutive years.

New SGA In 2008, renovations began, and Sugar Grove Elementary became Sugar Grove Academy Middle School. In 2010, SGA ended the school year with an accountability rating of "Recognized".

We are committed to continuing in the same path of excellence for many years in the future.
