    HISD Enrollment

Am I zoned to this school?

Mark White is a non-zoned HISD campus that serves to support the boundary zones of Briargrove, Piney Point and Emerson Elementary.

How do I register my child?

In order to enroll, you must complete a School Choice application that allows parents to choose the school they want their child to attend regardless of the address boundary zone. You may complete this application at choosehisd.org.  After completing the School Choice application, your child will be placed in a lottery until a seat becomes available.

What do I need to provide for enrollment?

Enrollment is now ONLINE. AFTER you have accepted your seat you will be prompted to enroll your child at houstonisd.org/enroll. You will need to provide the following documents:

    - Birth Certificate, Passport or VISA
    - Social Security Card
    - Immunizations
    - Parent Identification
    - Proof of Residence (light/gas bill, lease agreement, or mortgage statement
    - Proof of income (PRE-K ONLY)

What is the French Immersion Program?

Mark White Elementary is the first public school in Texas to offer a French Immersion program. We currently offer French courses in Pre-K-5th grade, in addition to traditional courses. Students will learn half of their curriculum in French and the other half in English.

Do you offer other languages besides French?

We offer Dual Language Spanish in PK-3rd grade. Students are taught in both English and Spanish to prepare them to meet reclassification criteria in order to be successful in English-only instruction. Students also have access to ESL programs, which allow students to further develop English as a second language.

    Do you provide bus transportation?

In-District students who attend magnet programs on approved transfers and who reside two or more miles (as measured along the shortest route that may be traveled on public roads) from their assigned campuses are eligible for transportation services at district designated stops.
