Why This Moment Matters:
The Mission of Destination 2035
One year into state intervention and District Transformation, the Houston Independent School District has seen promising progress. To sustain and build on these improvements, we are convening the Destination Transformation Summit to share our learnings and the strategic changes driving them—not only for our schools, but as a model for systemic change across Houston and beyond. This event provides a unique opportunity to engage district leaders and educators in showcasing effective approaches, reinforcing the urgency for change, and collaborating on actionable strategies to elevate student academic outcomes.

SUMMIT FOCUS AREAS

  • Why is Transformation Essential: Highlight why systemic transformation is crucial for HISD’s vision of 2035.
  • Systems-Level Change at Scale: Showcase strategies for district-wide academic improvement.
  • Actionable, Classroom-Driven Impact: Link big ideas to tangible outcomes in classrooms.
