Dr. Tanya Edwards is excited to join Stevenson Middle School as the Interim Principal. She has been a part of Team HISD for several years. She earned both her Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and her Master of Education Degree in Educational Administration at Prairie View A&M University, later obtaining her Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Her commitment to education and leadership quickly propelled her into various influential roles including Instructional Specialist, Assistant Principal, Elementary and Middle School Principal, and support for the South Division. Dr. Edwards was named Middle School Principal of the month in November 2023, and HISD’s South Area Principal of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year. Dr. Edwards is dedicated to improving student achievement, building positive relationships, and improving campus culture.
