Flu Season Is Here
Nurse Contreras sends us this message about how to protect ourselves from the flu.
It's FLU season! School-aged children are a group with a high rate of Flu illness. Please take everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs. Here are some ways to help prevention.
Go to: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/habits/index.htm
- Please cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your bent arm. If you use a tissue, you should put the used tissue in a trash can and wash your hands.
- Always keep adequate supplies within easy reach, including tissues and no-touch trash cans.
Encourage hand hygiene through education, scheduled time for hand washing, and the provision of supplies. See https://www.cdc.gov/handwashing/ .
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, dry hands with a paper towel, and use the paper towel to turn off the faucet. If soap and water are not available and hands are not visibly dirty, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol may be used.
- Include hand washing time in your schedule.
- Use adequate hygiene supplies, including clean and functional hand washing stations, soap, paper towels, and alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Keep your hands away from your nose, mouth, and eyes.
Thank You,
Nurse Contreras
