Hello! My name is Kendra Lee. I’m the School Counselor at Love Elementary. This will be my second year as the Counselor, but I’ve been at Love for seven years total – I spent four years teaching 1^st grad and one year teaching 4^th grade. I sincerely love and enjoy being Love’s School Counselor – I love teaching to the Heart!  

As the Counselor, I implement a school-wide anti-bullying Character Education Program called Early Acts First Knights; I go into each classroom and do mini-counseling lessons; and I have my small groups we call “Friendship Club.” All are an effort to directly ensure that our students’ needs are being met not only emotionally and socially, but academically as well.

A little bit about myself: I went to the University of Houston for my Bachelor’s in Education (EC-6^th), and I completed my Master’s in Education for School Counseling at the University of St. Thomas. Although I absolutely adore Houston, and consider it my home, I am originally from New Mexico (home of green chili and the hot air balloon festival!) I also recently got married, so you might remember me by my maiden name: Berglund! My husband, CJ, and I have two fur-baby kitties: Smeagol and Frodo!

When I’m not being your School Counselor, I’m probably riding my bike on the beautiful Houston bike trails, or catching up on Netflix with my husband!
