Parent Student Connect (PSC), an online service launched in September of 2009, allows registered users to access a variety of student information, see class assignments and school calendars, and even communicate electronically with teachers. There are a number of ways for parents to get involved in public education: by serving as one of the Volunteers in Public Schools, influencing district policy through one of its advisory committees, working with Strategic Partnerships to assist specific campuses, joining a Parent Teacher Organization or Association, working with SPARK, or sharing ideas with administrators in the various opportunities presented on the HISD website (such as commenting on articles).
