BIOGRAPHY

  • Cameshia Emerson has been selected as the new principal of Lockhart Elementary School.  Mrs. Emerson has 22 years of experience in the field of education.  She started her career as a third-grade teacher in Tennessee and has also served as an instructional coach, teacher specialist, assistant principal, and principal.  She currently serves as the proud principal of Lockhart Elementary School.

    Mrs. Emerson earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Tennessee at Martin.  She also obtained an Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Freed-Hardeman University. 

    Mrs. Emerson is honored to serve the families and students of Lockhart Elementary School as well as the Third Ward Community.  She believes that students will attain the highest levels of achievement when all stakeholders work together as a team. She also believes that teachers have the greatest impact when they feel supported and motivated. 

    In her free time, Mrs. Emerson enjoys spending time with her husband and visiting her daughter and other family in Tennessee.  She also enjoys reading and watching HGTV.
