Pre-K & Kindergarten: All Pre-K & Kindergarten classes receive General Music instruction daily from the same instructor. Foundational music concepts are taught by our experienced staff, such as steady beat, pitch matching, and basic rhythm patterns.
st Grade: All 1st grade classes continue in daily General Music instruction. Students build upon the foundational concepts learned in the previous year and advance forward in musical abilities.
nd Grade: Students in 2nd grade begin rotations, whereby students receive instruction in each of the four magnet disciplines: Choir, Piano, Band, and Orchestra. By using their previous knowledge base, the students rotate each day to explore the various elements of each discipline. At the end of the first nine-weeks, students will select the discipline of their choice, to continue the current school year.
rd Grade: Students are beginning in their chosen discipline and attend this discipline each day.
th Grade: Students are continuing in their chosen discipline and attend this discipline each day. Students also have the opportunity to become part of an advanced performing ensemble.
th Grade: Students are continuing in their chosen discipline. Advanced performing ensembles will participate in concerts throughout the year and other off-campus opportunities to learn more about their music discipline.
