Dance Program

Students will develop creativity in movement, coordination, flexibility, and balance.  Students will increase knowledge in ballet, jazz, and modern terminology and movements.  Students will learn movements at the ballet barre, center, and floor work.  Students will be taught dances that will be performed incorporating what is taught during technique classes.

Students in the Dance Program will perform in many events throughout the year in many genres of dance.  Performances include HISD Dance Montage, HISD Elementary Dance Festival, Kate Bell Black History Program, and Black Heritage Day at the Rodeo, Kate Bell Hispanic Heritage Program, and Kate Bell Fine Arts Extravaganza.

Genres of Dance include: Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Cultural Dances as well as other styles of Dance.
