Dual Credit
-
Energy Institute has established a partnership with HCC to offer dual credit opportunities to our students over the summer (we are not able to offer dual credit opportunities during the school year).
Please note that when a student takes a dual credit course, they are adding official grades to their high school transcript AND their college transcript. We want students to be successful at both levels and students need to aim for A's on these courses in order to start off college with a HIGH GPA. The classes move at a fast pace during the summer sessions and students need to be prepared to spend time studying and working through materials outside of the scheduled class time.
**Students will not be able to select specific courses or finalize session dates yet. HCC posts their summer schedule in late March. Once students are approved by HCC as college-ready to register for classes, students will search for course dates and times that are available. All classes will be taken at an HCC location and are free. All courses are not guaranteed to be offered at all HCC locations or both summer sessions. All decisions about course dates/times will have to be made during the official HCC registration in April.
Interest Form: Applications are closed for the Summer of 2025
Initial submissions must be received before the 2025 deadline. Late submissions will not be allowed. After all interest forms are received, Mrs. Garcia will start holding meetings with interested students and will start processing paperwork for the summer session. Since we must adhere to HISD and HCC deadlines, please make sure to adhere to all required deadlines or you will be dropped from consideration in the summer dual credit program.
- 1st Five Weeks Session: June 2 - July 6, 2025
- 1st Eight Weeks Session: June 2 - July 27, 2025

We also do not know, until the courses are posted in late March, if courses will be offered during a 5 week, 8 week, or 10 week session.
