History and World Cultures Department
-
“The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.”
-Sir Winston Churchill-
The Hartman History and World Cultures Department is structured to study mankind and its interaction throughout time. From Sixth Grade World Cultures through Seventh Grade Texas History on to Eighth Grade American History, students will examine the human condition and how it interacts within its species and with Mother Nature. Students will learn how different civilizations developed, functioned, and made huge impacts on humanity. With the study of real primary documents, including maps, graphs, diaries, and newspapers, students will delve further into what makes mankind tick and the effects of man’s decisions.
Our ultimate goal in this department is to give students the opportunity to learn about the process of development within a culture, reflect on how that affects their own personal story, and become champion global citizens who will lead future generations.
