Felix Cook Elementary Fine Arts Magnet is proud to be a watchdog school.

Watchdogs Dads provides a positive male role model for our student community.

The Dads Of Great Students' Watch D.O.G.S. program brings fathers and father figures into the school to help facilitate learning and serve as an extra set of eyes and ears, so teachers and students can focus on learning.

Shifts can be one full day, or just a few hours. All time is precious and we appreciate you, as a parent or guardian, taking time out of your day to assist us.

Today more than 4,704 schools in 46 states plus DC participate in WATCH D.O.G.S.

Who Are WatchDOGS and what do they do?

WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. school. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, eat lunch with students, monitor the cafeteria during lunch, help at school events, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. Many school principals have reported that the mere presence of a WatchDOG dramatically reduces reports of bullying. On the day of their participation, WatchDOGS are given a brief review of their involvement and they wear an official WATCH D.O.G.S. t-shirt with a disposable ‘Dog Tag’ identifying them as WATCHDOGS.
