About Me
-
Hello,
My name is Michelle Bauldry. I am a military veteran and served over 7 years in the Army Reserve, in Texas and in Germany. I have an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing and a Bachelors Degree with a double major in Law Enforcement and Nursing Studies. I am currently perusing a Masters of Science Nursing specializing in Forensics.
I have been a nurse for over 30 years and have a very diversified background. The first 15 years of my nursing career, I lived in Arizona and worked primarily in Labor, Delivery, Nursery, and in the Emergency Department. While in the Emergency Department, I was the Community Outreach Coordinator and the Data Base Coordinator when we transitioned from paper charting to electronic medical records. I worked as the House Supervisor and in the Float Pool, floating between my specialties during my last five years there.
In 2010 I moved back home to Houston with my youngest daughter Samantha. She is now 24 years old and coaches gymnastics and has an art business specializing in pottery. My oldest daughter, Sierra, was married in 2010 and remains in Arizona with my son-in-law, Steve, and my two granddaughters, Jamie and Ella. Sierra is an office manager for a very busy family practice clinic and Steve is an instructor at Ft. Huachuca and an adjunct professor for Wayland Baptist University and Cochise College.
Once back in Houston, I worked for three years as an Elementary School Nurse for CFISD. I went back to the Emergency Department for a year, but I realized I missed working in the school system. I was asked by Spring ISD if I would consider teaching. I love teaching and accepted a Health Science teaching position in Spring ISD, where I obtained my teaching certificate and taught for three and a half years.
I left teaching and returned once again to the Emergency Department. After three years in a local hospital, I decided to try nursing travel. In early 2021, I set off for my first travel assignment. It has been an adventure and I have been blessed to work in Atlanta, Georgia, Katy, Texas, Tucson, Arizona, Beavercreek, Ohio, Cape Cod, Massachusetts and finally Wrangell, Alaska.
My last position was a critical access hospital in Wrangell, a small island in South East Alaska in the Tongass National Forest, a temperate rain forest. My thirteen-week contract ended up being almost eight months long. While I was there, I adopted Feenix, my kitten from Oklahoma and she has been my best travel buddy. I am missing the much cooler and wet climate, but it was time to come home!
I have been a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Volunteer for 12 years. I am a Stop the Bleed instructor and have taught CPR and First Aid in the past. I love teaching, and volunteering is something I have done since I was a child.
I am looking forward to getting to know all my students, sharing my experience and love of learning with them. I can't wait to see my homeroom students progress through the next three years of their high school journey.
