    SCHOOL TOURS

     

    MAGNET SCHOOL CHOICE FAIRS

     

    WHAT:

    All CVHS tours start at 1:00 PM promptly and end at 2:30 PM.

     

    WHEN:

    Every Thursday from October 10, 2024, until February 6, 2025 (except for Halloween, Thanksgiving, 12/19/24 until 1/2/25 included)

    WHAT:

     Information sessions for interested parents and students with every magnet program represented.

     

    WHEN:

    From 9AM to 12PM

    • November 16, 2024 @ Milby High School
    • December 14, 2024 @ Booker T. Washington High School 
    • January 11, 2025 @ Westside High School 
    • February 8, 2025 @ Lamar High School 

    No need to sign up for the fair, just show up😊!

     

    MIDDLE SCHOOLS VISITS

     

     

    What is it:

    Magnet high school coordinators make program presentations to 8th grade students at all middle schools during the fall semester.

     When is it:

    A calendar is provided by the district. The middle schools are informed in advance and the CVHS magnet team will visit the middle schools.

    PARENT NOTIFICATION

     

     

    • Apply online during phase 1.
    • Link to the application under quick links
    • Complete the application and upload documents if needed.
    • Test for GT if needed.

     

     

     

     

    • During phase 1: 12/10/24 to 2/12/25

    Applications must be entered in the online system during phase 1 for guaranteed consideration in the first round.

     

    • NO phase 2 application as we have a long waitlist.

     CVHS does not have phase 2 or 3 because the number of applications during phase 1 exceeds the number of seats we can offer.

    • Deadline to apply: 2/12/25 

     

     

     

    • Lottery results: 3/20/25
    • Parent notification on your dashboard 

     

    PARENT RESPONSE DEADLINE:

    • 4/03/25

    Parents must notify Magnet school of choice and the school of  student’s “intent to attend” by  4/03/25 or they will lose their seat.
