• Lindsay Harris Lindsey Harris, Piano Instructor


    Mr. Lindsey Harris, Jr. is excited to join the Parker Elementary team as a piano instructor. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Sam Houston State University and brings more than 11 years of experience teaching music at both the elementary and middle school levels. His passion lies in helping students discover their musical potential and guiding them as they grow into confident, expressive musicians.

     

    In addition to his work in education, Mr. Harris runs a small business that fuels his creativity and keeps him continually learning. He looks forward to being part of Parker’s dynamic music program and collaborating with students, staff, and families to enrich the school’s strong musical tradition.

  • Akly Faride Akly Miller, 2nd Grade Teacher


    With more than 15 years of teaching experience in Houston ISD, Ms. Miller brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to nurturing young learners. She has taught across multiple elementary grade levels and is passionate about creating a positive and engaging classroom environment where every student feels seen, supported, and motivated to succeed.

     

    Originally from Bolivia, Ms. Miller integrates her rich cultural heritage into her teaching, helping students connect across backgrounds and experiences. She prides herself on tailoring instruction to meet the diverse needs of her students and fostering a lifelong love of learning.

     

    Outside the classroom, Ms. Miller enjoys cooking—especially experimenting with international recipes—and staying active through regular exercise. She’s also a proud wife and mother of two energetic boys who keep her busy and remind her daily of the joys and challenges of childhood.


  • Gamez Felix Gamez, Suzuki Strings Instructor


    We’re excited to welcome Mr. Felix Gamez to the Parker Elementary Music Magnet team! A native of Conroe, Texas, Mr. Gamez is a skilled violinist with a passion for music education and student growth. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Houston and a Master of Music from Ithaca College, where he also completed extensive long-term Suzuki teacher training under the guidance of renowned educator Carrie Reuning-Hummel.

     

    Throughout his academic career, Mr. Gamez served in leadership roles such as concertmaster and graduate assistant, and he has taught both private and group violin classes at the college level and at Ithaca’s highly regarded Suzuki program, ISME. His students have gone on to earn placements in the Houston Youth Symphony, TMEA Region and All-State orchestras, and have achieved top scores in Solo and Ensemble competitions.

     

    Mr. Gamez is excited to return to Houston and is eager to contribute to the growth and success of Parker’s vibrant Suzuki Strings program.

  • Monique Monique Johnson, SLC Teaching Assistant


    We’re excited to welcome Ms. Johnson to the Parker Elementary team! She brings a strong background in special education and a passion for student support. A graduate of the University of Houston–Downtown, Ms. Johnson is currently pursuing her master’s degree in counseling with aspirations of becoming a school counselor.

     

    Since joining Houston ISD in 2023, she has been committed to creating inclusive, nurturing environments where all students can thrive. In her new role as a Teaching Assistant in our SLC classroom, Ms. Johnson looks forward to continuing that work by supporting students’ academic and personal growth every day.

  • Paola Paola Mejia, Pre-K Teaching Assistant


    Joining our Pre-K team this year is Ms. Paola Mejia, a dedicated and enthusiastic educator-in-training. Currently pursuing her degree in Education at the University of Houston, Ms. Mejia brings valuable early childhood experience from her work in daycare settings and her role in Parker’s After-School Care program.

     

    Inspired by her sister, a Pre-K Bilingual teacher, Ms. Mejia is passionate about working with young learners and hopes to one day lead her own Kindergarten classroom. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and caring for her young nephew. Ms. Mejia is eager to support Parker’s youngest students and excited to begin her journey in education right here with the Parker community.

  • Sendejas Isaiah Sendejas, 4th Grade Teacher


    Mr. Isaiah Sendejas returns to Parker Elementary not just as an educator, but as a proud former student. A product of both Parker and Houston ISD, he is thrilled to be back on the campus that first sparked his love for learning and inspired his journey into education.

     

    With two years of teaching experience, Mr. Sendejas brings a reflective and student-centered approach to the classroom. He began his career at a linguistically diverse elementary school where more than 30 languages were spoken, learning firsthand how to meet the varied academic and social-emotional needs of all learners. His practice is driven by data, student growth, and a commitment to continuous improvement—embracing every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow.

     

    Outside of the classroom, Mr. Sendejas enjoys running, experimenting with coffee and espresso brewing techniques, and diving into a good book. He looks forward to contributing to the vibrant learning community at Parker.

  • JRuiz Jennifer Ruiz, Kindergarten Teacher


    We’re excited to welcome Ms. Jennifer Ruiz to the Parker Elementary team! A proud graduate of the University of Houston, Ms. Ruiz brings a strong passion for early childhood education and a commitment to nurturing the whole child. She strives to create a classroom environment where every student feels safe, valued, and eager to learn. When she’s not in the classroom, Ms. Ruiz enjoys crafting and hiking—two hobbies that inspire her creativity and love of nature. She looks forward to partnering with our families to support a joyful and successful school year.

  • KTrimble Katherine Trimble, SLC Teaching Assistant


    Please join us in welcoming Ms. Trimble to Parker Elementary! An accomplished artist and dedicated educator, Ms. Trimble brings a wealth of experience teaching visual arts in a wide range of settings, including HSPVA, the Glassell Studio School, Houston Community College, and Fusion Academy. She is passionate about how people learn and express themselves, and she’s excited to bring that passion to our students and staff.

     

    Originally from Rochester, New York, Ms. Trimble has called Houston home for the past ten years. In addition to her work in visual arts, she plays the cello and is especially excited to join a school community that values both music and the arts. Her personal artwork explores sensory experiences and the connection between the brain and body. Outside the classroom, she enjoys learning new skills, playing board games, and sharing great food with friends. We’re thrilled to have her as part of the Parker team!

  • AnnieR Annie Rasmussen, Chorus Director


    We’re thrilled to welcome Ms. Annie Rasmussen to Parker Elementary as our new Chorus Instructor! A lifelong lover of music, Ms. Rasmussen’s journey began at age eight when she played her first piano piece 25 times in a single day—an early passion sparked by her mother, who was also her first piano teacher.

     

    Ms. Rasmussen holds a degree in Music Education from Utah State University and brings a rich background in both vocal and instrumental music. She has taught in private studios, community settings, and most recently served as the choir director at Garden Villas Elementary Music Academy. Known affectionately by her students as “Ms. R,” she is committed to using research-based teaching methods to help children develop joyful, lasting musical skills.

     

    A proud resident of Meyerland for over a decade, Ms. Rasmussen enjoys baking, writing, and spending time with her husband and two teenage children. We’re excited for the passion and experience she brings to the Parker music community!

  • GAlatrsite Gabriela Alatriste, 1st Grade Teacher


    We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Gabriela Alatriste to Parker Elementary as our new First Grade Bilingual teacher! Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Ms. Alatriste brings a rich cultural and educational background to our community. Spanish is her first language and the heart of her home life with her children.

     

    Ms. Alatriste began her teaching journey in Mexico and later continued her career in the United States, earning her Bilingual EC–4 certification. She recently completed her master’s degree in Special Education with a focus on Gifted and Talented learners. With 23 years of experience in Bilingual and ESL classrooms, she brings a deep commitment to inclusive, high-quality education for all students.

     

    Teaching is truly in her roots—her mother was also an educator, and some of her earliest memories include joining her mom at school and professional development sessions, where her love for teaching first took shape.

     

    Ms. Alatriste is excited to collaborate with the incredible students, families, and staff at Parker. We are honored to have her on our team!
