Organization Purpose: The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage good citizenship in the students of secondary schools.

The student must be a current 6th or 7th grader with a scholastic average of 85% or above.  The student must have attended Holland for at least one full semester and have three faculty members' recommendations.  The student must also have good character, good citizenship (conduct) and leadership ability.   The officers meet Monday mornings during homeroom and the general body and the officers meet Thursday mornings during homeroom.  There is no cost to join the NJHS.  However, students will have to purchase a shirt that ranges in price from $5-$10.  The National Junior Honor Society is ideal for students who excel in their academics and desire to strengthen their leadership skills. Students who are looking for a positive group of students to work, play, lead, and serve with will benefit greatly from joining the NJHS.  The members are responsible for setting a positive example of how to be a successful leader to the rest of the student body by maintaining high grades and good citizenship.  The National Junior Honor Society performs at least two community service projects every year.  They perform one in-school community service project and one out-of-school project.
