PTA
Our goal is to combine the many talents of parents, teachers, and school administrators to create an environment at Oak Forest Elementary that best serves the diverse needs of our students. We encourage you to join us in making our school the best it can be and a place of growth and learning for our children.

SDMC
The committee is an advisory group to the school principal except for approval of campus staff development. The committee must outline procedures for addressing the areas of involvement listed under Responsibilities, below and for decision making. The principal will consult the SDMC in matters relating to the school educational program, but the principal has the final authority in fiduciary and financial decisions.

VIPS
Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) recruits thousands of parents and community partners to donate their time, resources, and knowledge in support of the district’s primary goal to increase student achievement. Volunteers contribute in areas such as mentoring, tutoring, fundraising, career education, enrichment programs, extracurricular and community service activities, and office and classroom assistance. After registering online and undergoing the annual background check, volunteers can work in any HISD school for the school year.
