• Hello, Ed White Families!

    Hola!! Ni Hao!! My name is Ms. Karen Garcia, and I am the newest assistant principal at Ed White Elementary. I am thrilled to take on the role of assistant principal after previously serving as a teacher specialist. I have various responsibilities at the school, including overseeing kindergarten and 1st grade, coordinating testing, and supporting teachers in their professional growth and development. My primary goal is to ensure that your children are safe, happy, and receiving the highest quality education possible.
     
    Before joining the administrative team at Ed White, I taught 1st and 2nd grade. I consider myself a lifelong learner. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and completed my Master's in Educational Leadership with a Principal Emphasis at the University of Houston-Victoria. I am a proud Houstonian and a fan of the Houston Astros Baseball team. I attended schools in the Houston ISD. I am trilingual and can speak Cantonese, English, and Spanish. At home, we celebrate my Chinese, American, and Hispanic culture, embracing our multicultural heritage. When I'm not at the campus, I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, cooking, trying different foods, and spending time with my family.
