    Objectives to be covered:

    RE.9.1.A- Apply knowledge of letter-sound correspondences, language structure, and context to recognize words.

     

    RE.9.2.A – Expand vocabulary by reading, viewing, listening and discussing.

     

    RE.9.2.B – Determine word meanings through the study of their relationships to other words and concepts such as content, synonyms, antonyms and analogies.

     

    RE.9.2.D – Apply the knowledge of roots, affixes, suffixes and word origins to infer meaning.

     

    RE.9.2.E – Use available reference guides such as dictionary, glossary, thesaurus and available techilogy to determine or confirm the meanings of new words and phrases.

     

    RE.9.3.D – Read to gain content/background knowledge as well as insight about oneself, others, or the world.

    SSR & Response: Students will read chosen novel.

     

    Do Now: Students will answer in 3-5 sentence SAR.

     

    Direct Teach: Students will be assigned to 1 of 9 groups

     

     

    Tuesday 12/2

     

    SSR & Response: Students will read chosen novel and complete 5 W summary in journal.

     

    Do Now: Students will answer in 3-5 sentence response to question about thesis statements.

     

    Direct Teach: Students will be able to identify the 8 parts of speech and connect them to their designated color.

     

    The educator will go over the 8 parts of speech power point and incorporate color coding to increase student interaction and understanding of how to use apply/identify parts of speech in various contexts and develop masterpiece sentences.

     

    Independent Practice: Students will work individually to identify various parts of speech, takes notes and begin small group pair and shares to answer coding activities.

     

    Exit Ticket: Students will answer a short question about what they learned about grammar.

     

     

    Wednesday 12/3
