Gaylon Davenport, Principal

  • Our campus is rich in both tradition and cutting-edge educational instruction.  We proudly provide our scholars with a strong academic program that includes project-based learning, use of technology in the classroom, digital learning, various reading incentive programs and learning platforms tailored to each student's learning needs and aspirations.

The dedicated teachers and staff at Roosevelt commit to providing all scholars the necessary tools to become independent, critical thinkers who are also ready to readily compete for rigorous middle school programs. We also strive to instill in our scholars a high sense of self-esteem, compassion for others and a desire to achieve and succeed in their career path of choice. Roosevelt will also offer scholars to participate in a Dual Language Program, where the goal is to be completely literate in both English and Spanish in order to prepare for a changing, diverse and global world.

Parents also play a vital role on our campus.  Currently, we have a robust group of parent volunteers who provide support and assistance on a daily basis. Additionally, there are various ways to volunteer on campus such as field lesson chaperones and classroom readers! Our Parent-Teacher Organization is a great way to stay connected to all that occurs at Roosevelt Elementary.

Roosevelt is conveniently located a few miles just north of downtown Houston. We are proud to have over 90 years of tradition. We encourage you to take time to visit our campus!
