The application timeline for Magnet programs is split into two phases this year, not three as in previous years. Depending on the phase, different rules will apply as to how applications are processed.

 

Phase 1 (December 10, 2024 - February 12, 2025)

All qualified applications submitted during Phase 1 will be entered in the lottery.

After in-district applications are processed, out-of-district applications will be considered on a space-available basis during Phase 1.

Tuition is required at some schools for out-of-district students. Please reach out to each individual school about this.

The application deadline for Phase 1 is February 12, 2025.

 

Lottery Results from Phase 1 will be sent to parents via email the week of March 20, 2025.

 

Phase 2 (March 20, 2025 - Summer 2025)

After Phase 1 ends, all qualified applications received during Phase 2 will be considered on a space-available basis only.

The application deadline for Phase 2 is the week before the 2025-2026 school year begins in HISD.

 

 

Phase 3

There will be no Phase 3 (as in previous years for out-of-district applications) for the 2025-2026 school year.
