Arrival/Dismissal Launch: Starting May 12, 2025
Parents and Students: To maximize safety and traffic efficiency, while preparing for a great start to 2025-26 school year, we will launch a new traffic plan for morning arrival and dismissal. Starting May 12th, each grade level will have a separate morning arrival/dismissal point:
6th Grade - Teacher Lot/Bus Drive
7th Grade - Main Courtyard/Front of School
8th Grade - Wigton Gate
- Signs will be posted outside of each entry point to remind parents and students. Adult supervision will also be assigned to monitor each point and provide assistance.
- Complete Survey- If you have more than one student attending at various grade levels, the eldest sibling will be provided a pass to be dropped off and picked up at the youngest siblings entry/dismissal point. ID Badge labels will be issued to students on Monday, May 12th using the following color code (Black- bus riders, Orange- walkers, Yellow- siblings). To support our efforts, please complete the survey to ensure we have accurate information on your student(s): https://forms.gle/FXaSWTAjxVtRFwG86 . Please fill the form out for each child, and remind your kiddo to wear their ID badge daily.
- Walkers will be dismissed immediately in the afternoons and will have an assigned pass.
- Traffic Map- See the attached map to plan your morning and ensure your child arrives to their assigned gate on time: Meyerland.Middle.School.Traffic.Plan.Spring.2025.docx
- Please know that this plan is a work in progress to perfection. This launch will allow us to collect active feedback to maximize safety and efficiency.
- A call for volunteers- If you would like to serve as a parent volunteer/crossing guard for morning arrival and dismissal, please email our Ms. Graves- Safety Captain/Dean at pgraves3@houstonisd.org.
