Length of audition: 10 minutes

What to bring: Sticks for snare drum, mallets for xylophone or marimba and one copy of prepared music for audition panel. Percussion instruments will be provided.
What Not to Bring: Any drums. The snare drum audition portion will be perdformed on a concert snare drum
What to expect: Percussionists will be asked to:

1. Perform major scales on xylophone or marimba, the full range of the instrument, from memory.  
2. Scales will be selected by the panel from C, G, D, A, F, B-flat, and E-flat 
3. Perform prepared solos on snare drum and mallet instrument. On each instrument, the applicant may prepare All-City Band audition etudes or short excerpts from end of the Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 or equal level on each instrument. 
4. Sightread two selections to demonstrate reading ability.
5. Answer questions regarding your musical experience and interests.
