Values are what a person believes to be important. Young children begin to form their values based on their family's values. 
All families are different. Our families are part of what makes us special. Values are what is important to the individual and to 
the family. One of the things that is valued in families is character values, or how a person acts and treats others. 

Here are a few ideas to help your child better understand your family's character values:    
-Read books with your child about your character values. Some suggested books:  
• Howard B. Wigglebottom and the Monkey on His Back: A Tale About Telling the Truth (H. Binkow)  
• Be Kind (Z. Miller and J. Hill)   

It is important for your child to understand that all families are different. We all share different values. We can all get great 
ideas from one another!
