Marisela Tran is a proud HISD graduate, and is excited to serve students and their families in the Houston area. As the daughter of a Mexican immigrant, her passion is to ensure all children are given the same opportunity to become successful. She has spent the past decade working in education, encouraging students to find their passion and pave their road to victory by never giving up. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Houston and earned her master's degree from Lamar University. She began her career working for AmeriCorps in after-school programs for at-risk youth.

 
After several years as an English Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Tran moved into the roles of Content Curriculum Coach and Testing Coordinator. She is proud to have worked in and out of the classroom and even on the fútbol field as a soccer coach.

In her spare time, she enjoys grilling outside in the Houston heat to serve some of the best steak you have ever eaten. She has a supportive family that she will walk to the ends of the Earth for. They enjoy sipping on coffee and watching action-packed movies.
