Today, Anthony Martin, 7^th grader, won the East Region Spelling Bee competition. He received a trophy, a medal, set of novels, and a set of Britannica encyclopedias. He will go forward to represent the region at the Houston PBS Spelling Bee on March 27, 2010. It will be televised live.

It appears we are establishing a tradition. This is the second year that an Ortiz student has held this title.
