Ortiz Middle School participated in the HISD Summer Reading Club program: Reading Millionaire Club. The Millionaire Club is a coordinated effort by the Department of Library Services, the Literacy Leads the Way initiative and the Reading Department to keep HISD students reading over the summer months. Students were awarded shirts, wristbands, decals and certificates for reading five or more books this summer. The district-wide celebration took place on Friday, September 24^th.
