Let me begin by saying how completely thrilled I am to be the elementary computer lab teacher with such an excellent group of students, teachers, and administrators!
I am a born and raised Houstonian. I went to the University of Houston and received B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies (EC-4) and a B.S. in Psychology. After graduating, I began my career at the HISD Outdoor Education Center in Trinity, Texas, where I taught hands on science education to fifth graders. After 3 years, I decided to move closer to my family and took a teacher assistant position for a year and then moved up to a fifth grade Science and Social Studies teacher in Alvin ISD. This wonderful journey is what has brought me to T.H. Rogers. I began teaching fifth grade Math and Science for a year and then moved to the science lab for two years and this brought me to the computer lab position. I am excited for a new year of exploration with all the students in the computer lab.
As a teacher, I believe that students learn best by experimentation and exploration. As a result, the majority of my lessons are constructed based on the ideology, "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand."
I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
