The purpose of this course is to give each student several opportunities to write creatively and to read exemplary pieces of creative writing. We will be exploring different genres of writing, through both reading and writing, as well as the other necessary elements needed to improve your writing and composition skills. We will also study and analyze the creative works of accomplished writers in order to learn effective ways to use poetic devices, figurative language, and other writer's tools in our own writing.
Through writing, thinking, and discussing, students become  better readers, writers, and thinkers. The skills we focus on in this class will most definitely help you in your other classes, especially English.
