Hi, my name is Ashley Munfus. In the dance world, I go by Ms. A. I am so thrilled to be the dance instructor at Crockett Elementary. Performing Arts is my life, from dance to theatre; art to music, I have a passion for the Arts. The world is a huge stage, so why not dance on it. As a former graduate of HSPVA in Houston, and NYCDA in New York City. I have worked on and off Broadway performing in musicals professionally. My teaching experience spans over 15 years.
I am the founder of a non-profit dance company in Houston whose goal is to inspire compassion, respect, self-esteem, and acceptance for all, regardless of race, gender, or beliefs, through performance, education, and self-value in children.
In dance they will learn the seven action movements. Each dancer will understand and be able to demonstrate the 5 elements of ballet. We will cover Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Folklorico, and Hip hop.
Performances are my favorite. It allows dancers to witness their growth. It’s also a great opportunity to showcase their strengths and talents for their families and friends.
Each year we have a Winter Showcase and a Spring Showcase. Dancers can participate in the HEB Thanksgiving Day Parade, Houston Rockets Game performances, as well as special events in HISD and the city of Houston.
