Head Coach – Coach Parker
Coach Parker brings over 10 years of coaching experience to the Pandas. He has coached the Pandas to multiple HISD District Championships and always fields a competitive ball club. He believes in preparing his players to be great people and, most importantly, believes that the cornerstone for a good program is Discipline in the classroom and on the field. He prepares his student-athletes to be good People who become Great Athletes.
Associate Head Coach – Coach Brown
NEED Bio
After graduating from Columbus HS, Coach Brown attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) and played football for four years as a running back. After graduation, he got a job working at Pershing MS and has been in the district for 19 years, not all at Pershing but he is here now! He helped start the HISD baseball program and has coached football, basketball, and track as well as his current job as one of Pershing's baseball coaches. He currently is also the Lamar HS assistant volleyball coach.
There are two Pershing baseball teams (J.V. and Varsity). This is a club sport and participation fees are part of joining the team. If financial assistance is needed, please contact Coach Parker. Students must be passing all classes to participate.
Tryout Information: Students in Grades 5th thru 8th can tryout to play baseball at Pershing Middle School. Tryouts are held in December. During tryouts, students need to bring their own equipment. A current doctor-signed physical is required to participate in tryouts.
Equipment: -5 bat for JV and Varsity, Glove and Cleats
Practices: Daily from 4-6pm.
Games: Dates vary on weekdays between February - April
