2.26.25 - Meeting with Principal Square and Officers

    • We met on February 26, 2026, during A1 in room 326 with Principal Square. Please note, all future meeting minutes will be published here. Principal Square proposed to reserarch additional options to consider in place of Six Flags, camping and prom venue. The reasons are below.
      • Six flags in May in Principal Square's experience taking a senior class to six flags during the month of May has never yielded positive outcomes. It is usually very hot, and the lines are very long. We are researching alternative options.
      • Camping: Camp Olympia is only available for us on March 6, April 28, or April 29. None of these are designated days for senior activities. If we proceed, it will result in eating a big chunk of our budget, and we will still need to find something for the senior class to do 3-4 other days. Principal Square proposed finding another location where we can do camping activities while simultaneously researching alternative activities that can accommodate our senior class on the designated dates listed below.
      • Prom: Prom venue is too expensive. Principal Square proposed looking at alternative options to get the same or better experience at a more reasonable price. This will allow seniors to use savings towards hair, make-up, outfits, etc.
      • Important Announcement from Principal Square: Seniors absent on March 7th (Friday) and the Friday before prom will not be permitted to attend prom without Principal's Square approval. Seniors must be marked present for approval to attend prom. Anyone with questions should see Square during lunch.
    • We discussed the following
      • Class Officers - Officers made a decision to appoint ambassadors to officer positions. Ambassadors were notified and they accepted their nomination to officer title.
        • President: Colliah Smith (formerly Tiyara Brown - early graduate)
        • Vice President: Keiana Rogers (formerly Colliah Smith)
        • Secretary: Jordan Andrus
        • Treasurer - Masiah Moshay
        • Historian -Dillynn Johnson
        • Parliamentarian - LaDiamond McKnight
        • Webmaster / Public Relations - Ariona Freeman
      • March 7th is panoramic day. Students must be present on this day to be permitted to go to prom. This is also Class of 2025 panoramic day. Officers agreed to UH Game room (no cost to seniors) for this day. After senior panoramic photo.
        • Follow up: UH Game room was already reserved. Reached out to SDMC member Dr.Saunders to check availability at TSU. Reached out to Greasy Spoon for catering 200 Cajun Cajun Fried Chicken Wings with fries and canned drink (offered a discount)
          • TSU stated this is Tiger Day. Tiger Day is from 9:30 am to 12pm. Waiting to hear back about reserving game room for after the tour. https://www.tsu.edu/admissions/recruitment-events/tiger-day  This is an opportunity to learn about the admissions process, how to apply for scholarships, student activities, the history of the University, and more. The event will give prospective students a snapshot of what life is like as a TSU student.
      • Class shirt
        • Campus purchased a shirt for every senior at no cost to seniors. Requirement to receive shirt - paid basic package of senior dues. (Exceptions will be made for students needing to make payments on a plan)
        • Future meeting will determine if funds allocated for senior shirt will still be used for another shirt or towards senior week activities
        • Below is an image of the shirt (can be worn for panoramic)

        • All White Party

        • Skating
        • Field Day
