Dual Credit Registration
Students interested in taking Dual Credit classes will need to complete the following steps:
- Sign up with the Dual Credit office at Austin HS and speak with a grade-level counselor.
- Complete and return forms for one of the selected programs below. For Spring 2020, forms may be emailed to Ayanna.Baker@houstonisd.org.
- Complete ApplyTexas application.
Students must complete and return the following forms:
- HCC Dual Credit Waiver Approval Form
- HCC Student Commitment Statement
- HCC Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Verification Form (only for Construction Program) Read more here or here(HCC)
- HISD Dual Credit Student-Parent/Legal Guardian Agreement Form

12th grade Academic Classes
Students will select Government 2305 and/or Introduction to Psychology 2301
Current 11th grade (student will be in 12th grade next year)
- Parents/Students – Download the packet here for Government (fall) and/or download here for Psychology (spring), complete the packet, save to your computer, then email or turn into the Dual Credit office.
- Government 2305 – Description: In this course students will study the origin and development of the U.S. Constitution, structure and powers of the national government including the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, federalism, political participation, the national election process, public policy, civil liberties and civil rights.
- Introduction to Psychology 2301 – Description: This is a survey course of the basic principles underlying human behavior. Emphasis is placed on major areas of study in the field of psychology, such as learning, memory, personality, health and stress, child and adult development, and psychological disorders.
