• Education Pathway – Dual Credit Classes

    Austin HS students taking classes in the Education Pathway have the opportunity to take free Dual Credit classes starting in their 10th grade year.  Students will complete 5 Academic Dual Credit classes which can count as part of the required Texas higher education core curriculum. Students completing these classes can transfer them to a Texas public institution of their choice‡ (i.e. HCC or UH Downtown) to continue with an Associate of Arts in Teaching and/or their Bachelor’s degree.

    How do I sign up*?

    1. Start taking Pathway classes in 9th grade
    2. Attend interest meetings during Spring of 9th grade year
    3. Complete HCC and HISD forms and return to dual credit office (TSI testing is required)
    4. Complete ApplyTexas application for HCC

    *Note: Student attendance, grades, credits earned and STAAR scores will be reviewed to determine final eligibility
