    • The National Junior Honor Society is a service organization. Its members strive to make a positive contribution to their community. The Luther Burbank Chapter is very active in our school, and our National Junior Honor Society members are planning to participate in the following school activities:
       

           1- Open House- September 13, 2023

           2- Family Literacy Night- October 26, 2023

           3- Fall Family Night- November 2, 2023

           4- Math and Science Family Night- December 13, 2023

           5- Help Keep Our Campus Beautiful- Help collect trash at the end of the day three afternoons a week.

           6- Clubs and Organizations- The NJHS Members will attend all the Lady Eagles Volleyball Games throughout the season.

           7- Be a Middle School Student for a Day- February 15, 2024

     

           During the first semester, the NJHS Members completed a community project they called "Custodian Appreciation Food Drive". This project took place between November 13 to December 21, 2023. The goal was to collect canned goods and food to make Holiday Boxes for the six custodians on campus. They wanted "to show our sincere appreciation for all the hard work they put in to keep our school clean and inviting".            This year's Induction Ceremony was held in the school auditorium on January 19, 2024. 

           There are also several field trips included in the activities for the year:

            1- San Jacinto Monument- October 2023

            2- Houston Zoo- December 2023

            3- Houston Museum of Natural Science- February 2024

    NJHS Members       

           The Burbank NJHS Members have another project up their sleeve for this year. They plan to raise enough money to buy four picnic tables for the area around the flag pole in front of the school. For that purpose, one of the activities they will hold is conduct a "Candy-Gram" fundraiser during the month of February.
