    INDUCTION CEREMONY

The Luther Burbank Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society had its Induction Ceremony on December 2, 2022 in the school auditorium. The Chapter Adviser, Ms. Dulce Mancillas, welcomed our members and their parents to the proceedings, and introduced our Principal, Mr. David Knittle, who formally initiated the ceremony.

Some of the audience present at the ceremony.

After his remarks, our officers took the podium each in turn to speak of the qualities that all NJHS members possess: Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, Character, and Service. After they spoke, each went to the presiding table and lit the appropriate candle from the candle of knowledge.

    Lighting the candles

Once the lighting of the candle ceremony was concluded, our new members rose and took the pledge. Each of them then came up onto the stage to receive their certificate, membership card, and sign the Book of Memories. They were welcomed to the stage by the Faculty Selection Committee, Ms. Meghan Grout, Ms. Tatiana Malik, and Dr. Alexandra Ortiz, as well as our Vanguard Coordinator, Ms. Amanda Vasquez.
