Mr. Buck is making sure that all of the rooms are being sprayed down every day. Friday, December 14 is free dress day and it should help with incentive. Ms. Walker addressed that pink eye, the flu, and chickenpox are going around. She said that hand washing is the best way to prevent these illnesses from spreading. All students must be using soap in the bathrooms and not hand sanitizer because it is not as effective.
Budget
Mr. Buck told the committee that there are $140,000 extra dollars in our budget with current enrollment. He is considering hiring our counselor Mr. Vasquez full time. This money could also go into Saturday tutorials, substitutes, iPad cart, or laptop cart. Mr. Buck said that it is more likely to get another iPad cart because the laptop carts are more expensive. Ms. Green brought up that the iPad carts need to be connected to an Apple computer in order to load and sync the applications correctly on all of the iPads. Ms. Green said that we can use her computer to help sync the applications. Ms. Green also observed at Patton F. and saw the iPads very effectively used. Mr. Buck and Ms. Green discussed doing an observation and visit to Patton F. to see how the iPads are being used effectively to bring more ideas to Shearn and how we can use them.
