Shadow Embrace
by Fabian Pizano
As I lay in bed, I couldn’t shake the feeling that someone or something was watching me from across the room. I tried to convince myself that it was my imagination, but the shadows on my wall seemed to move accordingly.
Suddenly, a cold breeze swept through my room, extinguishing my lamp. I was plunged into darkness, and that’s when I saw it: a figure standing just beyond the edge of the bed, its presence making my skin crawl. As it crawled closer, I couldn’t stop panicking. I wanted to escape, but I couldn’t. Because my body was refusing to.
