Houston ISD is partnering with DYAD Consultants for the 2024-2025 school year!A DYAD Consultant is a community member with a special and unique skill set, such as: photography, gardening, boxing, golf, yoga, spin, videography, piano, guitar, and much more. DYAD Consultants are contractors who work with HISD schools on a part-time $30/hour basis, providing students with high-impact enrichment not typically available across K-8 campuses. If you have a passion for transforming student lives, consider contracting with the district!

The forms below should be completed and returned either in-person at the Hattie Mae White ESC (4400 West 18th Street | Houston, Texas 77092) or to your designated coordinator. If you do not have a designated coordinator, please reach out to us to submit your documents. Additionally, the Pre-Bid application can be completed online through the HISD Purchasing Services ionwave system. For Pre-Bid Application support, please email P1ALLEN@houstonisd.org.

WHAT IS DYAD?
DYAD Specialty Classes are offerings provided to students during the day to ensure that they are introduced to as many experiences as possible. DYAD Specialty Classes are based on the concept that learning comes from the acquisition of three things:knowledge, experience, and perspectives. DYAD Specialty Classes bring opportunities and experiencesthat students would probably not have without this support. DYAD is not an Acronym. DYAD is something that consists of two parts: a pair.

WHAT ARE DYAD SPECIALTY CLASSES?
DYAD Specialty Classes are offered to all NES and NES-A campuses for students in grades 3-8. DYAD Specialty Classes are offered during the day to ensure that students are introduced to as many experiences as possible. The categories of DYAD offerings are fitness, music and fine arts, 21st-century media and technology, and hands-on science.

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES FROM DYAD OFFERINGS?
DYAD Specialty Classes will provide all students with opportunities for experiential learning, preparing them for a 2030 world and workforce by mastering competencies in informational literacy, critical thinking, problem solving, communications, creativity, and collaboration.
