Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS)
-
Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) support the district’s main goal: to positively impact student achievement. By serving as a mentor, tutor, chaperone, and role model you are supporting HISD students, parents, and the future generations of the Houston community. Your work has special significance for our school communities and can be life-changing for our students.
After School Meals
-
- After School Snacks: HISD Nutrition Services is proud to offer the After School Snack Program, which was created to benefit children who participate in specific school-sponsored, educational, enrichment-based programs. More than 120 campuses utilize this program that helps sustain student nutritional needs at the end of the school day.
- Dinner Meals: HISD has partnered with district’s After School Program Department to offer a free dinner meal during the school week. Any child between the ages of 1 and 18 is eligible to enjoy a complete meal. The program is provided free to all students as part of the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Feeding Program. Contact your school for dinner service times.
