SOCIOECONOMIC INFORMATION IS VITAL FOR YOUR CAMPUS
Houston ISD is required to collect and provide the socioeconomic status of each of its students* to the Texas Education Agency. Your campus collects this data from families via the Socioeconomic Information Form (SIF), which can be filled out either online through the Campus Parent Portal or submitted to the campus on a paper version of the form.
*Except for the following campuses:
- Horn ES
- Kinder HS for the Performing and Visual Arts
- Oak Forest ES
- River Oaks ES
- Roberts ES
- Travis ES
- West University ES
It is very important that families complete the SIF so that schools can receive federal and state funding. This funding will directly impact a campus and its students.
Programs dependent on student economic disadvantaged status:
- After School Programs
- College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) allotment
- Early Childhood allotment
- E-Rate program
- National School Breakfast/Lunch Program
- Personnel
- Professional development for teachers
- State funded Pre-K
- Technology
- Tutoring services
- Waived fees for in-state college applications
Parents are strongly encouraged to complete and submit the SIF either online (via the campus Parent Portal) or by filling out a paper form and returning it to the campus.
