Food & Agriculture Literacy Program
-
The HISD Food and Agriculture Literacy program empowers students and the community with the knowledge to make informed food choices. Our program focuses on understanding the impact of food choices on health, the community, and the environment. It includes a variety of activities, such as cooking classes, nutritional education, and lessons on sustainable agriculture.
By enhancing food literacy, individuals can develop a deeper appreciation for the food they consume, where it comes from, and the processes involved in its production and distribution. This comprehensive approach to food education not only promotes healthier eating habits but also fosters a sense of responsibility towards food sustainability and community well-being. The Food and Agriculture Literacy Program aims to cultivate a generation that is conscious of their dietary choices and their broader implications.
Our Mission: Empowering informed food choices through education.
Our Vision: Cultivating conscious dietary decisions for a sustainable future.
