ApplyTexas Application
ApplyTexas is a centralized web portal for prospective students from Texas and other states to apply for admission to Texas higher education institutions. The purpose of the program is to allow students to complete one application and submit it to multiple institutions of higher education.
All students participating in dual credit must complete the ApplyTexas Application and list the institution of higher education in which they will enroll for dual credit. Each high school campus will host an application workshop to ensure students and parents have the necessary support and instructions when completing the application. ApplyTexas Application

TSIA2
The Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) is a series of
placement tests for students enrolling in public colleges and universities in Texas. The tests help Texas schools determine whether a student is ready for college-level courses in the areas of reading, writing, and math.During the parent/student orientation, all participating high school campuses will provide detailed information concerning TSIA2 testing. This information will include the preparation and support available to students prior to testing. Practice for the TSIA2

Required Paperwork
Houston ISD partners with Institutes of Higher Education to give students the opportunity to obtain college credit while in high school. The most common partner is Houston Community College (HCC).
HCC requires paperwork for all dual credit students that must be completed and submitted by the established deadline. The campus administration will provide the forms and instructions to all student participants.
1. The Dual Credit Waiver Approval Form. This form requires signatures from both the student and parent(s).
2. The Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Verification Form. This form requires the student's signature and a copy of a current immunization record, reflecting a current meningitis vaccine (5-year span). NOTE: a dual credit student attending classes on a college campus is required to provide proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination. However, dual credit students who are taking their courses on a high school campus only or online are not required to show proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination.
3. Student Score Report. This document is generally submitted to HCC by the campus/district. This score report will provide the documentation needed to qualify a student for academic/workforce dual credit classes. This report could be either one of the following: TSIA2, SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, ACT, STAAR EOC.
The campus administrator will provide the forms for the students to obtain all necessary signatures. Once the forms are signed, the form must be returned to the campus administrator by the established deadline.
