SAT and PSAT Overview
Students take the SAT for university admission, scholarships, and to assess readiness for freshman-level college coursework. The PSAT measures the key knowledge and skills your child learns in school, essential for college and career readiness.

Testing Dates

Eligibility
- All 8th and 9th graders will take the PSAT 8/9.
- All 10th and 11th graders (fall semester) will take the PSAT/NMSQT.
- All 11th (spring semester) and 12th graders (fall semester) will take the SAT School Day.

Assessments:
PSAT 8/9 (Grades 8th - 9th)
PSAT/NMSQT (Grades 10th - 11th)
SAT School Day (Grades 11th - 12th)
Mode:
All students will test online.

Homeschooled Students
Homeschooled students in 11th grade may take the PSAT/NMSQT at their zoned HISD campus at the district's expense. Parents must make arrangements with the campus' PSAT testing coordinator well in advance to be sure materials and space can be made available (request is due by 9/6/24). Training Dates
The trainings will be held from September 4th to 6th, from 2 PM to 4 PM on TEAMS. Register on OneSource using course number 1519200.
