      Accountability & Reporting

      The Department of Accountability & Reporting is a trusted, collaborative partner that provides accurate and timely data in clear, actionable formats to improve student outcomes, uphold grant evaluation and compliance, and close historic student achievement gaps to prepare students for a 2035 workplace and world.

      Data Science

      We negotiate and support the HISD business owner's conversations and formal agreements with any/all external partners related to the availability, appropriateness, and proper usage of HISD data in order to meet the shared needs of the project. Additionally, we handle standing reports to the public and ad hoc requests for data from HISD leadership by producing the specific deliverable and/or by referring the user to a place the data is already available to them. 

      Student Assessment

      This team assists Campus Testing Coordinators and district personnel with the administration and resource support of Formative (OnTrack/Curriculum), Interim (CBE, CIRCLE, mCLASS, NAEP, NWEA) and Summative (GT, PSAT/SAT, STAAR, TELPAS) assessments. This team also assists with Assessment Strategy in the use of assessment data to make informed instructional decisions.

      State Reporting & Compliance

      The State Reporting and Compliance Team is a group of compliance experts that support HISD campuses and departments in collaboration with Information Technology, campus data clerks, campus registrars, At-Risk Coordinators , and PEIMS Coordinators across the district in the management of student data entry required for state and federal reporting.  We ensure the accurate maintenance of student academic histories and graduation information. Additionally, our team leads the district's EdFi integration and data management initiatives with external partnerships. We provide practical interpretation of state, federal, and local regulations, including standards associated with TSDS PEIMS and other data collections.
