District and School Data

  • Accountability 2023 and 2024

During SY23-24, Houston Independent School District students, teachers, and principals delivered significant progress in student achievement.

Metrics for both 2022-2023 (2023) and 2023-2024 (2024) were calculated internally by the district's AAC team in the Office of Academics, using student data finalized by TEA and done with the methodology published by TEA in their annual Accountability Manual and Administrator's Guides

The number of “A” and “B” rated schools increased by 82%, from 93 in 2023 to 170 in 2024. Meanwhile, the number of “D” and “F” rated schools fell by nearly two-thirds, from 121 schools in 2023 to 41 in 2024. In 2023, only 11 NES schools received “A” or “B” ratings. In the latest ratings, 53 NES campuses now earn an “A” or “B” rating, an increase of 480%.

  • Membership, Enrollment, and Attendance

Membership is the term for students who receive at least two hours of instruction per day. A student who is not in membership may still be enrolled to receive specific services offered by the District. Attendance is logged into the district's Student Information System before 11am daily, beginning on the second day of classes.

Beginning on September 9, the dashboard linked below will show membership, enrollment, and attendance — updated daily by midday to reflect the administrative processes completed by campus staff by 11am.
